America Flag Day

American Flag Day, people celebrate and show respect for their beautiful symbol of America. In that day, normally the flag is flown from sunrise to sunset, raised briskly in the morning and slowly at day's end, but always ceremoniously. At night it should not be flown without a light shining on it and never in the rain or bad weather.

The American flag must never touch the ground. When it is old it should be retired by burning or burying. It should never be thrown out with the trash. Did you know that there is a very special ceremony for retiring the flag by burning which local Boy Scouts perform on a regular basis?  Contact them to retire an old flag and be sure to attend the ceremony.

Here's an interesting fact ! People who study flags are known as vexillologists ! Now, that’s probably a new piece of information!
