They received N$30 000 and an all expenses paid opportunity to participate at the 2012 Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town.
Julian Fryman and Ester Lazarus were the overall junior winners and they each received N$12 000 as funding for bursaries.
Beata Naigambo and Paulus Vilho each received N$10 000 for finishing second overall in the women and men’s series, while Sofia Nababi and Oskar Komeya each received N$5 500 for finishing third overall.Speaking at the official prize giving, the CEO of operations at Old Mutual, Sakaria Nghikembua said his company always takes great pride in being the founder of the event.
“We are especially delighted that even in its 11th year, the event continues to be a highlight on the Namibian sports calendar,” Nghikembua said.“A very strong field of contenders from all over Namibia ran in various races and in the end, all the competitors have overcome their own challenges to compete and it was great to see young and old taking part and really embracing the Old Mutual brand,” he added.
This year the series had four legs in Keetmanshoop, Oshakati, Swakopmund and Windhoek.
Since the inception of the Old Mutual Victory Races series in 2001, Old Mutual has contributed more than N$3 million. The total sponsorship for this year's series amounted to N$480 000.
